The time has come for you to get rid of things that you do not need or simply can’t use anymore. When I purge my closet I know exactly where I will send my items.
Although, I donate a lot of items that I no longer need or use, I also like to sell some especially if I need extra money. If it is the end of the year and I have not sold an item that I listed in the last three months, I donate to places like the Goodwill. There are some places that will give a quote fast and allow a fast decision to donate or resell elsewhere.
Here are three places that you can use to sell your clothes, shoes, accessories, and electronics:
GreenBuyback
I am not as good at donating or reselling my electronics as I am with clothes and shoes. I am guilty of leaving money on the table in this area. I often let only electronics just stay packed up and then throw them out if I don’t give them away. For some reason it is hard to part with electronics.
GreenBuyback helps you to declutter your home and put money in your pocket. The company purchases your cell phone, tablet, gaming console, smart watch, laptop and other electronic devices from you and then they resell. If you don’t see your device listed, you can contact them to see if it something that they can purchase.
The process is simple. Start by getting a free quote from their website using their online helper. If you are satisfied with the quote that you receive, they will then offer you free shipping. Once they have received and processed your device(s), they will then pay you through Check or PayPal.
Green Buyback is a trusted company. They have excellent reviews on Trustpilot and the Better Business Bureau. They live up to their promise of a fast turnaround and payment process.
We put everything on our phones, laptops, and tablets. I mean EVERYTHING. This is one reason that it is hard to part with electronics. GreenBuyback guarantees that they will wipe ALL data and factory reset your device. This is a plus because you have to trust someone when you are sending them your cell phone, tablet, or laptop.
PoshMark
PoshMark allows you to sell clothing and shoes that you no longer need to those who want them. They also allow you to purchase from the “closets” of others. I will not talk about purchasing clothes since this is all about the purge.
After you have purged your closet and have sorted all of your gently worn items, you are now ready to list them.
After creating your account, you will take a picture of the item, and list an offer price. Your prices can and often will be negotiated by those wanting to purchase. When someone buys, PoshMark will alert you immediately. They will then give you directions on how to ship the item. You do not pay anything to ship the item to the customer. I have sold on PoshMark a couple of times and was satisfied with my experience. Once you have reached a $20 threshold you can receive payment through Direct Deposit or Check.
ThredUP
ThreadUp is another site that allows you to sell and purchase your gently used, stylish, name brand items (shoes, clothes, accessories). ThreadUP takes some of the work off of your hands because they will resell the items for you. You start the process by ordering a fillable bag from the website. You will fill the bag with the items that you want to sell and send it back to them. That process is free. After they process the items in your bag, you will earn money after they the item(s) have been sold. TreadUP tells you the items that they are looking for. This is helpful and may also get your clothes sold quicker.
You will receive a payout upfront for items that are in high demand. If the items take longer to sell, you will get paid once they have been sold. Note: There is a payment estimator on the site that will tell you how much you can expect if your item is sold.
ThreadUp offers payment in the form of a shopping credit, PayPal, or a Visa Prepaid Card.
These are just three sites that can help put money in your pocket while cleaning out unneeded/wanted items from your home. Now there is no excuse to hold onto stuff. Let it go! sell it, fatten your wallet, just let the stuff go!
