Having fun on a budget: Red Box and DVDXpress

( This is an old post from a previous blog that I decided to keep up )Movie theatre prices are through the roof. You can’t even see a movie for five dollars during the matinee anymore. Instead of going to the theatre on opening night, many people are opting for the $2 theatre or the video store. If you don’t want to go and sit in a cold and dingy $2 theatre or pay around $4 to rent a movie from your local video store you should check out Red Box and DVDXpress. These companies allow you to rent movies for $1!!! Yes $1.

They have machines (similar to the one above)set up at different stores. I have seen them in Wal-Mart and Bi-Lo. They are in the entrance before you walk into the store.

Here is how it goes:

  •  You select the movie that you want to see and you pay for the movie using your debit/credit card.
  • Next the DVD(s) will be dispensed to you from the Kiosk
  • When you are done with the DVD(s) return them to the kiosk through the dispenser
  •  Remember to follow the directions on the screen and make sure you complete your transactions fully before leaving the kiosk.

I have used both companies and I do love their services. They offer a great way to save money, spend time with your family, and be in your comfort zone.  You should also check out their websites http://www.redbox.com/  and mydvdxpress.net    for further savings and other programs they offer. Another site to check out is insideredbox.com . You may find codes for free movie rentals there.

NoteRed Box allows you the convenience of returning your movie rentals to any of their Kiosk locations and not just the one you purchased from.
